Twist on Battleship

We all know the game battleship - majority of us have played it in our childhood. If you don't know it, not to worry, i'll give a brief description:

- Each players game space is a 10x10 grid where you can place 4-5 battleships which you have on hand. -Ship A takes up one grid, ship B takes up 2 grids and so on.

-You must work with co-ordinates, and place ships according to said co-ordinates.

-Your opponent calls out co-ordinates an if said co-ordinate is where your ship it, it sinks.

-Both players takes turns until all of one's ships are sunk which then determines the winner.

The rules are quite simple actually. However what happens when you add another component to the game - a dice. We were tasked with creating a new way of playing battleship.

The dice we were given had two red faces while the other four were black. The new rule was whenever an opponent hit any part of the enemy's ship, they get one dice roll. If the roll lands on a black then the opponent is safe. If the dice lands on a red however, the enemy must reveal one row - either the x or y axis - that a ship is placed on.

Making only the red faces effective prevented the game from being finished too quickly and too easily.

Adding the dice into this game made it a lot more interesting and competitive.
